What is a Mandala?
The word “mandala” is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean “circle,” a mandala is far more than a simple shape.
I’m happy you are here!
My name is Sally Salkowski: teacher, graphic designer, and illustrator. I have an Associate’s Degree in Illustration and Bachelors Degree in Visual Communications, both from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI. After years of working as a graphic designer, I went back to school and earned a Masters Degree in Education from Marygrove College in Detroit. I am currently an adjunct faculty for Kendall College of Art and Design and Muskegon Community College and teach Graphic Design full time at a Tech Center to some talented and cool high school kids. When I’m not teaching design, I’m making it! I am a partner at Creatively Done: a brand strategy & design studio where I specialize in creating logo & identity systems. You can check out some work I do outside of class at creativelydonedesign.com.
I hope that my website can be a place where you can easily find out what is happening in the virtual CTC Graphic Design class for the rest of the 2020- 2021 school year.

Visual symbols are everywhere, we can see them in shopping malls, public transport, on billboards and posters, print ads, maybe even on your t-shirt.
